Fred H. 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 Great job Ray. You always impress. Raffia can be found at craft stores and is usually plant based . ie hemp or wood = paper product. The fly tying equivelant is called Swiss Straw and is synthetic and comes in an array of colors . Cream is an excellent wing color and clear can be colored with markers as Ray mentioned or use as is for PMDs . This material can also be used for shell backs and can be beefed up with flexament or fingernail polish depending on your desired sink rate. Bryan Wright 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 Great SBS I saved your PDF to my computer so I can try this out. I need to get some wing burners though.
letumgo 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 Hadn't seen this post in quite a while (almost three years old now). Thanks guys. Glad you liked the SBS. These wings work great on foam flies. Very simple to make.
