A few MOM trout flies

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd try a few MOM trout flies on you. My tying was all trout flies when I started out, and that

continued for many, many years until I discovered Steelhead and Atlantic salmon flies. Getting back into

the smaller trout flies is a challenge: my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, and the Marbury flies

go back to the roots of American fly tying. No flashabou or antron dubbing here!! Only natural materials

(except for the tinsel). I hope to complete all the Marbury flies in the future, but here are just a few:

Very nicely done!!! I have wanted to try tying some of MOM's classics for years. These inspire me to finally give them a try.

Once again very nice !

i absolutely love these patterns.

after some eventual extensive collecting of hooks and odd assortment of feathers required for these. i hope to do more.

im still patiently waiting for a dove to nail my patio door.

as always, excellent work mr. boyer!

Very nice, Mike! Your eyes must still be plenty good -- wanna trade?

I guess it's all relative, Bob. A pair of reading glasses is all I need for the time being. Dealing with

anything more would be a challenge indeed.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. I certainly plan to tie every Marbury fly eventually.
