Vise travel box / base

Recommended Posts

Here,s some pictures of my travel box / base . I wanted to keep my vise portable and be able to stow away if needed. So came up with this idea. I routed out the shapes of the vise pieces , to what would be the bottom of the base { or the inside of the box when closed }. The wood on the upper half is three pieces { two outer ones are Birds Eye Maple and center one is Babinga } glued to a soild piece of oak to make the bottom half. post-7270-1178673427_thumb.jpgpost-7270-1178673406_thumb.jpgpost-7270-1178673322_thumb.jpgpost-7270-1178673296_thumb.jpgpost-7270-1178673278_thumb.jpgpost-7270-1178673442_thumb.jpg B) steve

Holy Cow!! Great craftsmanship. I dare not let the wife see this or I'll be in the cabinet shop making one for her. Very nicely done.

If you will make me one, I'll buy it. I have a Nor-Vise, too. That would be perfect. How about making another?

Great job. Let's see, a flytyer with a scrollsaw, what else have you made for your flytying bench using the scrollsaw?

Wow...nice job. I see an open market here. Right now when I connect with people to tie I have my Fly Bin with stuff , but no place for the vise so I carry it separate. Since you're so good with the saw maybe you should consider making cases on the side.

Very nice! Now all you have to do is drill some cribbage holes around it and you'll be all set!!!
