Skip48 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 I have no clue if this has a name or not, but if not maybe I will call it Beaded White Wisp. Also looking for any constructive criticism as to what would make it better. Should I put some white hackle? Maybe I will tie one like this that has no bead and call it a White Wisp. Anyway thanks for looking, Skip
stinky 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 Looks pretty good. But I'd shorten up the tail a little. Looks almost like a wooly pattern without the palmered hackle.

Peterjay 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2007 Mark Sosin used to tie them for salt water. (without the bead) I think they were called blossom flies. You can find variations just about anywhere called just about anything. I've seen them (in black and brown) referred to as leech patterns.

Rkayser 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2007 It is a blossom fly. Wooly bugger was based off of the blossom fly, and tied to imitate a hellgramite. I think they had the article with some comments from the man said to have created it on fieldandstream.com. Can't remember though. Rob
