Anyone know the name for this?

Recommended Posts

I have no clue if this has a name or not, but if not maybe I will call it Beaded White Wisp. Also looking for any constructive criticism as to what would make it better. Should I put some white hackle?

Maybe I will tie one like this that has no bead and call it a White Wisp.

Anyway thanks for looking,

Looks pretty good. But I'd shorten up the tail a little.

Looks almost like a wooly pattern without the palmered hackle.

Mark Sosin used to tie them for salt water. (without the bead) I think they were called blossom flies. You can find variations just about anywhere called just about anything. I've seen them (in black and brown) referred to as leech patterns.

It is a blossom fly. Wooly bugger was based off of the blossom fly, and tied to imitate a hellgramite. I think they had the article with some comments from the man said to have created it on fieldandstream.com. Can't remember though.
