Need some ideas

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I need some ideas for some size 20 curved hooks I have around.

I want to tie some small stuff for winter here. When I say curved I mean a scud style hook.

Thanks. :headbang:

small klinkhammers, also w/ CDC puff as the wing,

variations on copper johns (use different color fine wire), small green caddis nymphs, (other colors too..., w/ and w/o beadheads)

I like small soft hackles tied on scud hooks, but hardly ever go smaller than 18 cuz of the "can't see what I'm doing" thing. Hare's ear soft hackle, partridge & _________.

This is a simple / amazing emerger pattern.

Mink Tail

Dubbed Body

CDC Wing extra heavy point up and towards the eye a little.

Paul Weamer added the Mink tail and it sinks quicker then antron and I like it's movement.

I noticed that your from St louis so I would recomend a #20 glowball (egg) it is the perfect hook for them. It is a deadly fly on the hard hit winter season C&R fish at Montaulk, Mermac and Bennit.
