Shaq 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Tube: Large Loop Bottle Tube Wing: Purple Zonker Strip Underwing: Purple FLashabou Body: Purple Polar Chenille Undercollar: Purple Arctic Fox Collar: Black Schlappen Cheek: Jungle Cock I have been experimenting with bottle tubes lately. This one is large and brass. Fly drops like a stone and gains depth without a sink tip on the swing.
nrthcsteel 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Hey Shaq. Great looking fly. This along with your other recent flies all look VERY VERY fishy. Good stuff. Glad to hear youve been getting out on the water and having some luck. Kevin

letumgo 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Awesome tube flies, Shaq! I need to add a dozen of these to my steelhead box. Thanks for sharing. I think I am going to tye one up with a hot pink body and a black wing/collar. Don't know if it will catch fish, but I think it would look cool. letumgo 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Question - What size bottle tubes are you using and what size polar chenille are you using?
Shaq 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 These are the large brass loop tubes, only ones long enough to have all this going on. I leave out the rabbit for the small ones. I only have 1 size Polar chenille available and there is no size indication on it but it's about an inch long on the fibres. Pink and black are good combos. I took a fish on this one last week...it's a bit mangled. These are great for deep short slots because they stay deep because they are so heavy Also going to try
15_10-11 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Nice flies but with bottle tubes it is impossible to do small nice head. It is why I and a lot fly tiers use another system and fly you tie before tube. Just little bit another idea Rafal
