floss burnishing tool

Recommended Posts

I was wondering where I can get a floss burnishing tool? I tried FeatherMc and he is out at this time. I did a google and didn't come up with anything.

Thanks

Bill

The wooden ones can be picked up in the modeling clay section of any craft store. Glass tubes (test tube, glass stirrer) work well, some use the side of a bobbin, others use polished rocks, the really nice ones are agate burnishers used to work with gold leaf. Search for burnisher on google and you will certainly get some good ideas.

Here are a couple links to show you some additional burnishing tool options:

(You will have to scroll down a bit to see the agate burnishers)

I know there are many other options, but these should get you started.

Try your local craft store or an artists supply store that sells transfer lettering. Michael's (my local craft store) has moderately hard plastic burnishers for about $3 per two pack.

Hi,

I use the one that letumgo posted a pix of, I am very happy with the results. I tried the wood ones from craft stores not that great, the agate makes the difference.

The Deja Views burnisher I mentioned earlier (that I picked up from Michael's) is available through www.cthruruler.com.
