Green Highlander 5/0

Recommended Posts

Here is a GH I tied in 2003 on a Reinhold S. 2 things I would have done differently:

1. I would have used a slightly wider tinsel in the ribbing.

2. I would have selected a body hackle that had better tapering.

What do you guys think?

Marc

I Like it, This is my #1 favorite pattern.

I think your assessment is fair. I really like the low sweeping profile of the entire fly.

Great tie :headbang: :headbang: agree about a better hackel, hackel could also be closer to the tinsel on the first wrap. Very good work, bet it get you a kill if you fish it :)

This one won't be seeing the water!!!!!

I will make one this winter to be fished, with substitutes and a gut eye.

I love the IC in the cheek, that's a really a beautiful feather, and the tinsel doesn't bother me. I agree with the body taper and I would have liked a throat with a bit more yellow feather. I love the profile :headbang: :headbang:

:D Just what you have said: tinsel and hackle. Overall profile and flow and, of course the hook! Very slick!

Beautiful.
