Fun with Biots: BWO series

Recommended Posts

At the request of Royalwulff I am posting a pic of a Palm BWO emerger. I also decided to post my entire BWO lifecycle of biot flies. They cover most of the bases and seem to work pretty well most of the time. Nothing too unique or special, just flies that work for me. All are tied on sz 18 hooks except for the soft hackle which is a sz 20 200R. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks guys. Don't know how I would do the classes, pics or video? They are all pretty straight forward patterns with a couple of slight modifications in materials or changes from how the classic patterns are tied, only if it makes them easier to tie, more durable, quicker, or sexier to my eye. None of my little tweaks probably add anything to their ability to catch fish though. If anyone has questions about how a particular step on one of the flies, materials, or really wants to see a pic step by step of any that they are interested in, I'd be happy to oblige.

Those flies are great, but what did you use for the hackle on the soft hackle?

My guess would be guinea fowl

Whiting hen saddle, a sort of barred grey color.
