LFF 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2008 I just posted a couple of pics but they came out on the forum in a huge format for one (swan ) and the size I wanted (moon) in the other. How do you insert pictures into the post to get results that are not too big to see on the page with no scrolling around required? Sorry if its a dumb question but hey I am a Limey
Ashby 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 You may have to use one of the photo sites to upload your photos. I use both photobucket.com and flickr.com. There are many out there to use, but the all pretty much give you the option of what size to use when posting the picture on whatever site you want to put them on. Once you get the hang of them, they are pretty awesome tools. Took me over 2 years to figure out how these guys were doing it lol. Ashby
Peterjay 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Whatever program you use to load your pix onto your computer should also have a resizing option. 600-800 pixel widths work pretty well for posting pix. And BTW, nobody over here thinks Brits are especially dumb. We just think you guys talk funny, drive on the wrong side of the road and don't know how to cook. Come to think of it, I just described my ex-wife, and she isn't even English.

Come to think of it, I just described my ex-wife, and she isn't even English. Maybe she had English blood in there somewhere ! We invented talking so it cant be funny y'all And we must have been around when cooking was started too. ( We just took no notice on that one) :wallbash: Now driving is a different matter. We invented roads and cars so our way is the only way. As for cameras we invented those too but most of us cant use them. Which is where our smart brethren across the puddle come in!! I use Photobucket but the pics I put on the site were straight from my harddrive which proves we cant use computers either. PB it is then ! Thanks to you both for the help on this and Peter for your grand sense of humour. :hyst: Or did you mean it all
Peterjay 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Keith - no I didn't really mean any of it except for the cooking part. Some years ago, I wrote a humorous account of Londoner Richard Hore's 1536 expedition to Newfoundland, during which many of the participants survived by barbecuing each other's carcasses. As I pointed out then and still believe now, that long-ago incident was instrumental in forming the foundation of what is now laughingly referred to as English cuisine. Gotta admit though, I do enjoy a hearty English breakfast. After that, there's plenty of time to hop aboard the boat train and head for France for lunch and dinner. LFF 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 I know you were :j_k: I have no problems with peoples taking the mickey provided they will take it back Just wish I was smart enough to return the compliments quickly! LOL As for the boat train, well thats a good idea. They sell English fish n chips and for dinner you could try tripe and onions! YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK. As you say however a good "heart attack " breakfast sets you up for a good days fishing. Or a day in ER!! :hyst:  Keith
Peterjay 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Tripe and onions? Small wonder that your island has been safe from invaders since 1066. One whiff of that stuff simmering in a kettle would surely send even the bloodthirstiest marauders scurrying for the safety of their boats. (posting menus on the beaches might work as well) Historians may disagree, but I think it was overexposure to such delicacies as tripe and onions that caused the Romans to pack up and leave; after all, it was the thought of eating haggis that kept them out of Scotland.
