Hot Tuna 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Just got my new issue of Fly Tyer and the 30th Anniversary Contest looks awesome. I need a new canoe! Congratulations to Dave Brandt for having his Royal Wulff used as the example for one of the contest pictures. I know from my last swap that we've got some guys and gals in here that can tie smoking Wulffs.... let the games begin.
Hot Tuna 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Wouldn't it be fun to have a pool where you guess the total number of entries plus the number of FTF members making it to the final 20....but we won't because it's probably illegal!!!....lol Just for fun: 1,717 entries 14 finalists who are members of the FTF

Guest Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Hmmmmmm... I'm more of a Royal Coachman guy but this could be fun. *rubs chin in contemplation*
sukhoidave 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 I'm gonna enter. I think I'm going to tie the Hair Wing Blue Doctor as the mandatory. For the tiebreaker... something that sinks. 1542 entries and 8 FTF finalists. I'd love the Canoe - a fishin' trip to Montana would be good too but I'd be pretty darn happy with the rod 'n' reel, vise or tying stuff just fine. I need a different hook (on order) IM not sure what ill do for the tie breaker yet. i have never had a need to tie any of the mandatory flies before so i am going to have to do some practicing as well. i already have my tiebreaker picked out though. its an original pattern.
