fowlmood77 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 When I stack deer hair it seems the hair is holding onto itself and won't get even at the tips no matter how hard I "tap". Whats the deal?
Guest Big E Report post Posted March 11, 2008 Did you get rid of all the underfur first?
garren 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 Yes, make sure that the hair is clean and that you clean any underfur. The amount of hair can make a difference as well, try to only stack the hair that is needed for the fly. Garren
netabrookie 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 I was having the same problem when I got back into tying until I realized that I was trying to put too much hair in the stacker. Everyone is right about the underfur also, all it takes is just a little fuzz, and it will hold the hairs and not let the tips even up. Guest Report post Posted March 11, 2008 After giving it a few good taps give it a few soft taps to finish this will keep the hairs from jumping. Brent
