Guest Big E Report post Posted May 13, 2008 The wife pimped my flytying desk for my birthday and got me an Ott light with magnifier. This thing is pretty sweet...nice magnification and an easy-on-the-eyes light that doesn't get hot. Hobby Lobby had both the light and magnifier on 40% discount. Al Beatty 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Hi Big E, That is an awesome looking setup. You must be really pleased with it. On the other hand I'm with Mick, how are you keeping it so nice/clean? Gretchen and I keep a pretty neat tying area but it certainly doesn't measure up to yours! Take care & ... Guest Big E Report post Posted May 14, 2008 On the other hand I'm with Mick, how are you keeping it so nice/clean? Military training and perhaps a touch of OCD. I just can't stand a messy desk. All my materials are stored in plastic containers in my drawers and I take out what I need for a tying session and then after, I put it away. Here's a bigger pic of my entire desk w/my old lamp. dwiltshire 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 That's a great looking tying space and a fantastic new lamp. What do you think it is that she's after?...
Guest Big E Report post Posted May 14, 2008 lol Dave...we're on the same wavelength. The weekend after she bought me the lamp we were in the mall and she stopped by the jewelery store "to have a look." Its our 20th anniversary this summer so it was kinda funny she went straight to where the 1ct diamond solitares were. I was born at night, but not last night... conehead 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2008 Nice set up Big E. I have a light and magnifier like that one. Now you have no excuse, you need to tie up those #22, #24, and #32 midge flies. You got the light and you got the magnification. The way I see it, your wife wants you to tie more flies and go fishing more often. Conehead
Bruce Derington 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2008 Nice light, just keep the magnifier away from any sun lit windows!
