Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 I like to think I'm an opportunist. When a situation presents itself, just make the most of it, right? Last Friday I had a new firefly pattern I wanted to try. I needed to see if the 'gills had started to bed too. Well, I came in at 9:15 after 3 1/2 hrs of fishing & was still cleaning all 50 of these at 11:00. Here's some pics of the great bunch of fish along with the "bulls" of the group. An even sweeter deal was that I did the same thing Saturday nite, 50 more. All are safe in the freezer just waiting for a fish fry. So maybe I am just a "little piggy". Guest Big E Report post Posted May 27, 2008 You're not a pig but you are a slow fish cleaner. Get yourself an electric fillet knife and buzz thru em. I can do a couple perch in about a minute during the hardwater season.

Floyd 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Your only a pig if you go over the limit. By the way what is the limit? You have a nice bunch of Gills there. I love fresh gill filets. Yum Yum :headbang:
Worstcaster 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 It's not like they are trout. Bluegills are so sexually active you can't easily fish them out of a pond. They say taking a good number like that will increase the size of the other in that waterway. By the way do you have a picture of the firefly pattern? shezli 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Sweet fish, they look similar to tilapia to me. Looks like a lot of work for not a lot of meat, but that would be a fun time fishing for them. S
