letumgo 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2008 purolohi kalastaja - I'm glad you liked this modification. I really liked the color combination of your original streamer and I have been thinking about converting it into a steelhead pattern for quite some time. I bought some coyote fur last week and it was just begging to be turned into a hairwing steelhead pattern. This is my first attempt at capturing your original color combination (purple and green) into this style. I think I also need to add some more golden brown (perhaps some lemon woodduck flank feathers in the collar) to give it some additional movement. I was surprised to find that coyote guard hair is difficult to work with. It is quite stiff and VERY smooth, so it is difficult to tye the wing in securely. It behaves similar to squirrel tail hair in that way. Thanks for the kind remarks, guys. It means a lot.
