letumgo 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 Love this one too, Alex! I'm guessing from the name of this pattern and the shape of the fly that it has a nice side to side motion on the retrieve (correct me if I am wrong). Looks like a guaranteed strike from a bass. :headbang:
riffleriversteelheadslayer 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 nice hula frog alex actually ray it is modled after a hula popper which fished correctly makes a popping sound but actually comes in quite straight you were thinking of a jitterbug

Guest Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Very nice! The Hula Popper was one of my favorite topwater lures, and this looks like a fun substitute. Nice tie and good shaping.
AlexC 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Thanks guys, One of the coolest things about this one is the butt(can't see it from the side). By spinning a couple clumps of hair and trimming them before tying the rabbit strips in, you get legs that stay apart from one another. actually ray it is modled after a hula popper which fished correctly makes a popping sound but actually comes in quite straight you were thinking of a jitterbug I've got a jitterbug, too
