FTOTY Rules question

Recommended Posts

Hello, all.

I have been around here for a year or two, but I ignored the posts about FTOTY until this year. I was never serious about fly tying anyway. But I may give it a shot this year, if I tie something I feel comfortable submitting. There are some really well-done flies in the years past.

But.... does the submission have to be an original pattern? I looked through the rules, but didn't find the answer. Granted, you probably wouldn't want to enter a gold-ribbed hare's ear or an Adams. But are variations of known patterns acceptable? Sorry for the novice question :baby: . I just couldn't find the answer anywhere.

You can enter any pattern you want as long as it fits within the category. It does not have to be your original pattern.
