Guest Big E Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Rcvd flies from Frank...as always another superb tie in a yummy color. I have some claret seal dubbing that I love to use on the trout around here and this will be great for my arsenal. Also rcvd flies from supaflygsr. Sweet! Nice use of a variety of material. Its got flash, movement with the rubber legs and I believe the only conehead of the swap. Hope to see you in more of my swaps. Nice box too....fyi, might want to just use an Altoids tin in future just so you don't end up losing your box when the postman loses your package. I have to pick up Dezods flies at the post office tomorrow, so the flies will be going back out sometime this week.
Guest Big E Report post Posted October 9, 2008 Well, the attachment editor doesn't seem to be working so I guess you guys will just have to wait until you get them to see them. All the flies went out in the mail today...well I guess its late so really they went out yesterday (8 Oct). Please be sure to reply when you receive them. Most of you will be getting one of your flies back as we had one person who didn't send their flies in. I also want to take this moment to thank those of you who sent extra flies...Student4evr, Spanky, FredH, Juice, Mr Steelhead and I apologize for not remembering who sent the awesome crayfish and other flies, but thanks. Its always nice to receive those few extra flies for gratuity and its greatly appreciated. My hat is off to you gentlemen. This will be my last hosted swap this year. My schedule is getting very busy as I have to finish off our basement in preparation for our move to WA next year, do flies for the Secret Santa Swap and the FTOTY competition, as well as work and school. Hopefully after the holidays my schedule will clear up and we can do this again.
Student4evr 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 Eric: Thanks for hosting   and I can't wait until you and yours get out our way. I am a retired chef and I do a really mean cook out on our fly club outings. You have a standing invite to sample the many waters here and up in BC. Mr. Steelhead 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 Thank you for doing such an excellent job with hosting. Yours were the first Swaps I have participated in and if all go as smoothly as this, I will be participating in many more, and as for the extras, you are most welcome and if you want the recipe for the ones from the first swap just let me know and I will provide it and the source for the tail material as I have never seen it in any fly shop or material suppliers catalog. Thanks again.
Satchmo 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 I just recieved all these fantastic buggers and all I can say is WOW! Im a fairly new tyer and you guy have shown me the next level of tying. I'd really like to thank Big E for hosting and putting in all the leg work for my first fantastic swap. So I leave next Thursday for 10 days of fly fishing through out in Colorado. My girlfriend and I will be fishing the... South Platte (at Cheeseman Canyon, Eleven Mile Canyon, Dream Stream) Blue River (at Silverthorne) Taylor River Frying Pan and 2 nights in the Black Canyon on the Gunnison River. (lots of convincing went into this 5 mile hike, camp, fish-apalooza!) I can assure you that I will be stripping some new buggers on my trip and hopefully I will have a fin and grin pic of me and trout with a brand new custom bugger hanging from its mouth. Thanks again all!
