Satchmo 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2009 Sorry to hear you goobered up your neck, apparently you didn't stretch properly prior to fishing. In the future follow the proper stretching regiment to avoid fly fishing injury.... Flies received form Firetiger and Overbrook. Both fantastic ties, thanks guys for participating! (Overbrook thanks for the CDC extras and Firetiger thank you for the true Czech nymph. Im curious to know more about the hooks you use, they certainly have a different style to them thats different than hooks we use her in the states. First of all they're barbless, and I assume thats due to your regulations, but I also like the shape and black color. Where can I find these type of hooks?) Im glad the flies have - finally - made it. It was a bit disappointment to learn my first batch got lost in passage, but at least I learned to use proper packing. I use barbless hooks by choice, regulation over here is not very advanced (we did not get rid of the socialists that long ago). The BWO hooks are japanese Tiemco TMC103BL in size 19 (they use odd numbers). It is a major brand and I am sure they can be ordered on line very easily. The Czech nymph is on a hook bya a small Czech manufacturer Skalka, who I think is unlikely to have a US distributor but you never know. There is another Czech fly hook manufacurer Knápek, who I am told is well estabilished in the US.

Satchmo 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2009 Received some classy looking flies today from my neighbor to the south (atroutbum2), very nice ties and thanks for the extras. btw bum, if I may call you that, do you ever travel up to fish the Neshannock Creek near Volant Pa. or head up to Erie for Steelhead? If so let me know, do alot of fishing at both. Also, are there any good trout waters near the burg? GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!
Satchmo 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2009 Ok all, I have received the final set of flies today, great set too, thanks Mr. Freak. The tempature never rose above 4 degrees todays so I decided to stay indoors with a bit of Gentleman Jack and ponder over all these fantastic ties. They will all be heading out tomarrow morning. Thank you all for joining and taking the time to produce some great flies. Satchmo
jacktjl 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 Satchmo, Thanks for hosting a great swap. I received the flies today and all tiers did a fantastic job. I am really excited about my next trip to the stream to test them out and feel fortunate to have been included in the swap. Only a short time away before I once again will be stream-side, lake-side, or pond-side. Thanks again, Tim
