Those are lovely flies Claudia, congratulations on your new home. It still amazes me that you don't use a vise.

Best,

Greg

I was cleaning up the bench and found a role of foam and was thinking about a big pike that broke me off last year.So i tied this big popper with a stringer hook attached with some thin wire.Or it couled catch a big smallmouth.

Those are awesome! Both on that new vise, eh? How is it for clearance with those smaller sizes?

Thanks David. Yup, they were tied on my star cruiser B) it's a dream to tie with for any hook, save for the smaller ones. It's not the size it depends on really, but the wire diameter. From size 16 and down if it's a light wire hook the vise just won't grab the bend that well with it's hook slits (thats the only catch with the slits, for all other hooks the slits are a dream they hold the hook sooo tight!). So for those flies I will have to use my Anvil Atlas. Other than that, it is a wonderful vise!

Searching for optimal buzzer body/coating combination. UNI floss, UNI thread, nail polish, clear nymph skin, heavy gauge fishing mono, even moose hair. Enlightment does not come easy <_<
