Much better! You're a fast learner, John. From what I can tell, every facet of that latest attempt is better than the previous. Maybe just bump the thorax up a little closer to the hackle and you'll be golden!

Nice caddis Jan! It looks to me like the wing is made from a folded hackle feather, is that the case?

It is kind of hard to explain...Sorin striped the fibers off the feather ( still attached by a thin strand of rachis) and folded two of them into wings. I however, stripped all the fibers off one side of the feather, looped it (part stem and part fibers) and tied them on that way. I think the 'lacy' look is from the part-stem-part-fiber wings. I think... :)
