Flytier 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2009 Hi Flytier How did you make the body on that fly it looks great and i would love to make some for my fly box. Grizzlyking, It is not a fly I tied, but from a set submitted to Flytier's Page. That said - the body is fashioned from trimmings from the vise bin, deer hair, flashabou, peacock herl ends, misc dubbing, etc. Just go wild  Cheers, Hans W
Dart 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2009 I'm tying for the Royal Family Swap, so I'm tying these today on a size 14. You'd think after I've tied this many I could get 'em right. :wallbash: I guess it's an improvement over the one I tied in August of '07. :hyst:

Flytier 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 What on earth did you use as body material? it looks Great and very lifelike!!! Claudia, it is not one I tied, but part of a set submitted to Flytier's Page by a Stateside tier. The case on this Cased Caddis is material from the waste troll - bits of deer hair, flashabou, peacock herl, buits of assorted fluff and dubbing - inserted in a dubbing loop, twisted, wrapped and trimmed roughly to shape. Up close looks pretty impressive, I think Here is another from the same set Cheers, Hans W

Hillbillyredear 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 Don’t have a name for this one yet. I made it up as I went. Turned out pretty cool. I spun different colors of deer hair than trimmed it down like a popper and made the head with grey sculpin wool and added red damsel eyes. I will be adding rubber legs to it also. I forgot to do that tonight. I will post a new pic when I add them. Tied 4 each of the Parachute Sulfurs and white and black Parachute Midges.
