wshunter 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2004 I'm looking for a pattern called the Phoebe, its a streamer or a salmon fly. Most likely used in Canada.
Guest Report post Posted June 28, 2004 hmmm, the only thing i know that is a "phoebe" is a spinner (not a fly). I'll try to dig up some info. steve
Guest Report post Posted June 28, 2004 I've checked all of the salmon fly books I have, and several salmon fly web sites and haven't found anything. I did find several references in articles on the web, but nothing descriptive. You got me stumped. I just e-mailed Bryant Freeman of Eskape Anglers in New Brunswick, if Bryant can't help you, nobody can.
wshunter 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2004 I knew of the spinners as well, but there seems to be a fly. A customer came into our shop looking for some. I'm bad about letting things like this go without an answer. Thanks
Guest Report post Posted July 19, 2004 Well, it looks like you stumped Bryant Freman too. He has never heard of it either and suggests that it is probably a "local" pattern. Sorry I couldn't help, if you ever do find out what it is, let me have the recipe (and a pic if possible) for my pattern collection. TB
