I would just like to welcome you to flytyingforum.com! As you can see there is not much going on around here right now, and it is my goal to create a community for people who love tying flies.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments about the forum please contact me because I could really use all the help I can get. I plan on adding new forums in the future but I thought it might be good to keep it small until some people start showing up.

I appreciate you showing up and hope you like what you see! While your here post a message or two and help me get this thing off the ground.

I would also just like to inform everyone that this will remain my personal forum with no ads, pop-ups, banners etc.

Thanks

Sounds like we are of to a good start, i haven't been able to fish for the last 8 years, because of my handicap, and no longer can get around as I once use to, so I spend a lot of time on my computer, although i am not a computer wiz kid, kid hell I'm 79 years old, and I spend lot of time on my fly tying bench, to maintain my sanity.

I will try to attach a picture of one of my Saltwater Flies, as i said i am not a computer wiz kid, but hell the world hates a coward, so here goes.

Critique it if you like, I appreciate comments.

Joe, on that flatwing - you still have to lighten up on the bucktail; the yellow wing looks way too thick. Did you build in any lavender or pink or blue? - can't see it in the pic if you did.

DFix

That fly was tied before we had a conversation on the bucktail being tied to full. since then I have reduced the amount of bucktail in both areas,

I will post another Flatwing, a little later and you will see the results.

Those days were great. I remember writing that topic just hoping that somebody would visit the site and read it. It was a lonely place on the first day, with just me here by myself! There was only one forum back then, the tying bench and that was it. :hyst:

glad you were sitting there that one fateful day!

if you wouldn't have, where would tying misfits go?

ill say it once.........or 1,000 times..............

there really should be a bright blinking disclaimer warning about the possibility of becoming addicted to fly tying; however, if one has found this site, its probably too late.

thanx for a heckuva board.
