I always find my-self turning to the Renegade and variations of it. My favorite is the dead chicken;

one grizzly hackle tied at hook bend, some peacock herl for a body and another grizzly hackle tied at head. Sizes 12-18 seem to produce every-where. You can play with colored grizzly also.

 

Do you have a pic. of the "dead chicken"? I would love to see a pic. of one .........I have never seen that fly before.

 

As i put above, The Dead-Chicken is just a Renegade tied with 2 grizzly hackles instead of a brown and white hackle.

Orange and Brown Clouser, Grey and white Clouser, Brown Bugger, Royal Wulff, Orange Stimulator.

 

In that order. Clousers are size 6, Buggers are Size 8, and the dries are usually 12-16.

I will try and hold true to the question rather than describe my favorite goto "box" of flies (Philly). :lol2:

 

Gonna go with #10 Olive Conehead Bugger.

 

and...rainbow clouser

 

and...white conehead bugger with grizzly hackle.

 

and...Royal Wulff

Trout dry - Royal Wulff (look closely at the brookie in the avatar pic)

Trout streamer- slumpbuster (caught my first brown, a 16-incher!!! on one...)

Trout nymph - black stone

 

'gills - my firefly pattern

 

smallies- meat whistle

 

largemouth - deer hair popper
