purolohi kalastaja 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 I did have a similar experience, but not with my wife. A friend was over and he brought his two teenage kids. I was showing them how fly tying worked... they were quite interested. I offered them each a fly. The boy took one of my big perch patterns that i tied with EP fibers. He figured he could catch some pike with it. The girl inspected all of my flies intensely and chose a clouser pattern imitating a rainbow shiner... it had some purple, some lavender, some blue crystal flash and red eyes. She said it was the prettiest fly I had. Go figure Isn't this really what we all do, in a way, though? Don't we pick the fly we choose to fish with based upon how "buggy" it looks, etc? In a sense aren't we saying, "this will look pretty to the fish"?

flyfishingtaz 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 I guess this goes in the weird thing for women. a few years ago i joined a few swaps. That friday I had got laid off at work, and due to needing supplies, I had to drop out of about 3 or 4 swaps. The g.f. insisted I could get the things for the swap and we'd be ok. well I dropped the swap. Well a few weeks later I receieved a VERY LARGE package in the mail. Everyone who joined the swaps, sent all the flies to me, along with a great book (The Royal Coachman). Needless to say ...it brought a tear to my eyes. Well, I was gonna go fishin after lookin for work that afternoon. When I came home....guess where my flies from the swap were at?? She took a picture frame(think she called it a shadow box??), and framed all the flies. She said it wasnt until she started framin em that she realized she was removing the tags with the tiers names and felt bad. Hell, any women who can insist on telling you in hard times to continue with a hobby, and then memorialize for ya is alright with me. I think I might have to marry that girl. Worstcaster 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 I tie her a mouse for your next anniversary. It's cheaper than jewelery. (I will however be giving MY wife jewelery for our next anniversary. I also will not be kicking in any funds for a doctor or divorce attorney, if you do actuality give her a fly for your anniversary.)

Joe Hard 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Yesterday I talking to my friend and noticed a small peice of flashabou stuck in the rug and plucked it up. He asked what it was, and his phone rang. After he talked to his girlfreind he told me.... that he told her that he was bringing her home some flashabou. He figured she had no idea what flashabou was but as long he was bringing it home it was all good, and she would be happy. It was only about 1/4 inch long, and If that aint weird I dont know what is.
