Fly Tying Paintballer6 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Well hey guys. Im Ty. and I am a fairly well experienced fly fisherman. I fish with my dad only and no one else in my family fishes or ties fly's besides me. I am still in school and I desperately need help to find an easy way to get more into the new hobby of fly tying. I have been tying flies after school, if possible, for about the last 3 months. Anything easy dry fly patterns would help to start. Thanks again. jimmyboy 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 If your looking for some help ask some one who's been tying for a while or read a book. Im sure that an experienced tier would have no problem helping you out. If your looking for new patterns try the internet or go down to your local bookstore and see if they have anything on fly tying, the beginners guide to fly tying and the fly tiers bible are both really good books. Guest Report post Posted February 21, 2009 Look in the fly tying database, there are more patterns than you could tie in lifetime, as for an easy dry, Elk Hair Caddis pops in my mind, Griffith's gnat small but very easy, small ant patterns or terrestrials like beetles etc. all of those are relatively easy and catch lots of fish. Good Luck, Eric
