Hey Frank,

Lovely fly you tied here. Looks like it would be an amazing prawn type pattern (i'm assuming that's how they roll in glasso).

Hm.... Damn i have to tie some flies..... Just got some inspiration..... Beautyful tying.

(is it just the picture or is the head without varnish?

I use very thin varnish for my fishing flies, so there is a coat on the head, and it got absorbed into the thread.

 

Sometimes I just use wax and a whip finish or two for fishing flies.

 

I like the smooth, glossy, perfect finish for "show" flies.

Syd's flies live on in this pattern for sure.

 

I might be from the UK but Syd and Bob are my hero's
