Frank G. Swarner III 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 I use very thin varnish for my fishing flies, so there is a coat on the head, and it got absorbed into the thread. Sometimes I just use wax and a whip finish or two for fishing flies. I like the smooth, glossy, perfect finish for "show" flies. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
