Will K 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2012 Wow - this is funny. I was feeling brilliant over last summer as I created a fly with a foam back which dove into a lip and gave the fly action when stripped... then I see this and realize someone else had the same idea! My version uses a maribou tail, a hook tied with the bend/point up and an eztaz body. I use small bead chain eyes to keep the nose slightly down and fly balanced correctly. I lightly coat the foam with CCG hydro to protect it from toothy critters. It floats - in the film, and when you strip it, it darts into the water then floats back up - alot like a Rapala balsa minnow lure... Love your use of this concept - simple and sturdy.
