cbinwindsor 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 nice packing job....do you cement the front of your hair bugs? Sometimes I do, sometimes i don't... On this one I put a little zap a gap on the front and then laid the hair back to set the face of the popper. Hair poppers are new to me so I'm not sure I'll always do it but it seems like a good idea for now. CB
ibian 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Any chance on posting a step by step for this one? I'd really like to learn to stack.
Fred H. 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Is that ostrich on the tail?. If it is I bet that thing looks wicked in the water. Nice stacking job , looks really tight. Good job all around. Fred
buggybob 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Nice tight packing job. That's going to float like a cork. The ostrich in the tail will slim down a lot and may almost dissapear. Might want to mix a bit of marabou or other fiber in if you want a strong tail silhoutte.

They have a bunch of step by steps for stacking deer hair bugs. Great fly! The hair looks super tight.
Cole 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Silicone you can buy at the hardware store works fantastic for setting the face of deer hair poppers.
