On this one I put a little zap a gap on the front and then laid the hair back to set the face of the popper. Hair poppers are new to me so I'm not sure I'll always do it but it seems like a good idea for now.

Any chance on posting a step by step for this one? I'd really like to learn to stack.

Is that ostrich on the tail?. If it is I bet that thing looks wicked in the water. Nice stacking job , looks really tight.

Good job all around.

Nice tight packing job. That's going to float like a cork. The ostrich in the tail will slim down a lot and may almost dissapear. Might want to mix a bit of marabou or other fiber in if you want a strong tail silhoutte.

You might check out warmwaterflytyer.com. They have a bunch of step by steps for stacking deer hair bugs.

Great fly! The hair looks super tight.

Silicone you can buy at the hardware store works fantastic for setting the face of deer hair poppers.
