Fred H. 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2009 Nice looking fly Mike. If that fly is true to size I could see why fishermen up north fish with that pattern alot. Big fly = big fish most of the time. Fred
British mike 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks all In answer to your question Chuckker.................I do not fish with the realistics I tie, they are tied purely for the challange and fun. This one will end up in a box frame with a nymph for an order I received a couple of weeks ago The adult took about 8 hours to complete. Over an hour and a half for the wings alone.......................... Thanks again all Mike.................................................. arkle 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2009 Sorry for the delay in my reply Mike, had a distraction called "fishing" or at least I think that's what it was called. More like disaster really, but it keeps the local water company & line makers happy when you wind it round a propeller & end up with no fish. The guys who were in a competition there at the same time averaged 7.4 fish each & some limited with 10 fish before 1 p.m. But they were from Wales........ nuff said ? Anyway it looks like your skills are getting better with every fly you tie. You fly box must be worth a fortune, I hope you've got it well insured. British mike 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 Hey John Sorry to hear about the prop and line problem. I had the same years ago and added to the problem by taking the trolling motor off to remob=ve the line and dropped it on one of my rods which of course split like a stem of corn!!!!!! At least you got out on a boat.......Blagdon or Chew? Thanks for the commewnts on the stonefly and all the best Mike.............................................
