To coat or not to coat...

Recommended Posts

I am up in the air if I want to coat the head of my clousers with epoxy or just leave them be. If I coat them I am going to encompass the eyes and all so that they are a little more solid. What do you think? I am heading to Florida in a week.

Good Day,

Tarpon and snook are not what I would call "toothy" critters... leave them as they are... IMHO.

I agree. I rarely use head cement/epoxy for anything. Occasionaly only on really small flies that I only half hitch or two whip finish.

If you're like most of us, your box is plenty cramped and you wont run short of flies.

I really dont mind losing flies to bites I even like to keep especially foam flies that really show the teeth marks. sort of like badges of honor.
