fly_fischa 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Looks good horseshoes you've managed to tame that thread well. Size 22# that's brave of you no wonder they're flying away
rich5665 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2009 And here I thought tying a size 18 was hard You're gonna need a lot of eye strain breaks with those flies. They do look nice though. I stopped at the store with the intention of buying a magnifing glass and bought a 6 foot / 4 wt Fly Rod instead Now I just have to sneak it passed the wife. fly_fischa 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2009 Hi Rich, Looks like I might need to look for a magnifying glass too if a 4wt is the end result Well done buddy, the bad news is I think it's close to impossible to sneak it past your wife. Trust me I've tried it once or twice You'll soon have some micro patterns to give your new toy a test run.

rich5665 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Fly_Fischa - very nice, I'm already mentally going through the materials of my fly desk to see if I have everything to tie one of these up. Horseshoes - I can't wait to tie one of those bugs on, I know a small stream in North Jersey and a few in Pennsylvania where the Brookies would love those. fly_fischa 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Tanks guys glad you like them They're a quick tie once you get going. I fonud the razor foam makes life easier, it adds a bit of volume behind the bead which can otherwise look a bit disproportionate at this size. They were fun to tie and I think I'll be adding some different colours to my fly box. Black sparkle legs, foam and bead could be good?
