letumgo 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 Excellent pattern, Fred! Nice combination of materials. It looks like it will come alive in the water. Have you fished with this pattern yet? I don't have any doubts about it's effectiveness.
Rodd Gunn 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2009 Very nice pattern. I especially like the thorax material. Are the rubber looking "legs" part of the wiggle dubbing?

siestafred 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Thanks guys ! I can tell you that this is indeed proving a most effective pattern, at at least so far in my local trout water. It looks positively "buggy" when wet, and like any slightly weighted emerger it can be readily fished in many different situations. The trout seem to hit it right away when it lands or gets in their feeding lane/zone. Last week it got me the largest brookie I've caught on one of my small streams in many years, 13" and beautiful! I think 14 " is about the largest caught in recent memory by anyone. Rod, the rubber is blended right into the dubbing. It takes a bit of fiddling to get it into the dubbing loop and wound properly. I use lots of wax, and make sure I don't trap the rubber too much when winding. Cheers.....Fred
