Student4evr 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 The bugs will leave tomorrow!! Once again I want to thank a fellow swapmeister for asking me to tie a pattern that adds to my skill set. I spent a bit of time researching the whole subject of quills for this one ., I even tried 3 ways to come up with the quills other than buying them. As you might expect AK Best's fingerprints are all over these bugs. I still have a ways to go, but every journey starts when you take that first step!!! Thanks for hosting Mike you gave me a chance to spend some time doing what I want to do. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Frank aka Student4evr
Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Frank, I'm anxious to see them. It has been my pleasure hosting. Unfortunately Wildman66 has been assigned to the Station fire (120,000 acres) and won't be able to finish his flies until well past the deadline. He has offered to send everyone his Royal Coachmans when he gets released from this fire. Is it okay with everyone if I PM him your addys? Or if you'd rather, I could have him send them to me and then I could send them out to everyone. Don't know how this is usually handled. Let me know what you guys prefer. rich5665 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 Sorry it took so long, but the flies are done. Can't say they look much like a gnat. They look more like a flying ant or ablack wasp
Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 Wildman, I've tried to message you twice, but I think it failed to send both times. Either that, or you got two messages from me saying the same thing. So, here it is a third time... Everyone wants you to be a part of this swap. When I mail out the flies to everyone, I'll mail you yours along with everyone's address. When you finish your flies, just do like you said and mail them out to everyone. PM me your addy so I can send you your bunch of flies and the addys. Stay safe around the fires. Mike
rich5665 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 Flies are Arkansas Bound. Good thing Mondays a Holiday, I have more swaps to tie for. Now where did I put those itty bitty hooks?
wildman66 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 I am still assigned to the Station Fire (148,000 acres and going strong in the Angeles National Forest) I do not know when I will be released or have go to another assignment. Please send me the addresses of everyone and I will mail each person on the swap their flies and a few for the hassle. We are working 16-20 hour days and there simply is not time for me to squeeze them in at this point without sacraficing already scarce rest periods. Please email me or PM with names and addresses and I will tie them as soon as I can. Jim
