Firetiger 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 Well, as I live in Europe it might not be practical to send the flies to me in two packages. I am OK with waiting a bit longer, at least I can let the excitement build up a bit more Wildman, stay safe and no rush, the fires made headlines even over here... Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2009 Wildman is finally going to get a couple of days off from the fires. He's going to finish up his flies this weekend and UPS'em. So everyone's flies have either arrived, or are on there way. :yahoo: B. LeBlanc, got your Humpies in today. I don't know why, but for some unknown reason I had it in my mind that you were a beginner. Obviously, you're not! These Humpies are fantastic, Sir. B. LeBlanc 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2009 Not so much a beginner, i just dont normally tie conventional split wing trout dry flies. I have been tying for a few years now. mostly bass poppers, bluegill bugs and some nymphs for me. Thanks for the kind words. Lookin forward to seeing these flies. Scott V 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2009 My flies are yet to be completed as I had hoped, earlier last week I was rushed off to the emergency ward thinking I had stones. It turns out I have a bladder infection that is very rare in men. I plan to finish my flies by Tuesday and get them in the mail by Wednesday if that is ok with everyone. If not I understand. This is the first time I have been able to sit up and type on a computer. Which is still not an easy task thanks to all the wonderful antibiotics that are in me and will continue to be in me for another 1.5 weeks. And what makes it worse is that I can not spend much time in the sun due to the antibotics, so that means no fishing for a while, I usually fish 3 times a week during this part of the year and keep a 40 hour a week job. Boy typing is had when you are dizzy.
wildman66 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2009 My flies are ready and in the box/mailer. Will send them off tomorrow. They are trying to call me back so glad I had the days off to get these done.
Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2009 Wildman, I appreciate you using your days off to tie the flies. Hate they are already trying to call you back to the fires. Scott, there are still six participants who I haven't received flies from, though I expect them to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. Get them to me as soon as you are able, and if I still haven't received yours by the end of the week, we'll go from there. I'll let everyone chime in...if they all vote to wait on yours to arrive, then we will. Mike
Scott V 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 You might as well go on without me, I tried to sit up and tie today and lated about 5 minutes before the nausea and dizziness started to kick in. Looks like mother nature is going to win this one by taking me out with this infection. I'm sorry I won't be able to finish, this will be the first and hopefully last time I can't finish a swap. Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 I hate to hear you're having to drop out, Scott. I was looking forward to seeing your F-Fly. I've never had a bladder infection, so I have no idea what you're going through. Doesn't sound fun though. I certainly understand, as I'm sure everyone else does. Hope you get to feeling better soon, and I also hope to see you in future swaps. Mike
Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Received Frank and Rich's flies today! Great looking flies, Gentlemen. Thanks for the extras. Frank... How many swaps has this envelope been through? :hyst: :j_k: Waiting for JohnR, getholdofjuru, and Wildman's flies, and then they'll be on their way to you. getholdofjoru 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 My stuff is sent. Sorry, I had alot less cream dubbing than I thought so I used grey, which would make this a traditional. I tried to get up to the fly shop but I was running so far behind at this point I decided to use what I had. They look good though! Thanks for letting me particpate, Joru

Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2009 I received getholdofjoru and JohnR's flies today. Excellent job, guys. Wildman's flies should be here later today or tomorrow. I'll finish snapping the pics and post them for all to see. Hopefully, they'll be on their way to you by Monday or Tuesday. This has been fun. Some very impressive flies.
