flyderaght 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I actually don't know where they got polar bear from-I do know it's legal here as the populations of the bears are fine, but that's a debate for another day LOL. marc
lookalike 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I've been trying to find some black bear hair but it's seems it's pretty hard to find these days. I had some that I used up and luv working with it. Makes some great streamers and winging material. Allot better then bucktail IMHO Does anyone know of a supplier that carries it? I check all the regular online retails but no one seems to stock it. Is there some sort of a ban on it now?? Thx's Mike

Mickalo 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2009 I have gotten some really great scraps of fur off of eBay from taxidermists. Hadn't thought of checking that on Ebay, but makes sense. I'll have check that out next time. Thanks to a very generous offer from a FTF member here they send me a large patch of black bear which should last me a while. troutguy 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2009 I searched fly tying skin and a guy has what I am sure is bear listed as black fur for 99 cents. His ends in 5 hours.
