deeky 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Just picked up a starling skin. I really like the irridescence (that unfortunately doesn't photo too well) and the light tips on the feathers. Wanted something with a bit of a hotspot in the fly as well. I think the legs/hackle overlay and tone down the pink just enough to pull it all together. Enjoy. Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Nice looking fly - bet it works well. Starling feathers are great, use them on a lot of soft hackles. Thanks for posting that one.
Ridleyffo 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Nice Fly Deeky, I gotta get me one of dem starling skins :gun_bandana: One keeps making his home in my attic vent everyyear and Im too chicken :poop: to get up there with a ladder and put a proper cover over it. Ladders never USED to bother me.
Futzer 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 Nice Fly Deeky, One tip; clip the ends of the tail flash at 45°, more flashy goodness. Cheers, Jeff.
Firetiger 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2009 I am a great lover of Starling myself; the iridescence of a cock starling neck feather is just amazing! When I see one I feel like a lady starling - wholly captivated and utterly amazed
