Threshershark 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 I have been kicking around a few different B&W processing methods. Certain techniques seem to abstract the image, giving a nice impressionistic look. Others preserve more detail and have a vintage feel. What are everyone's thoughts on these? Tybugs1 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Hi Brett For what its worth. I like the second one as the background and foreground are soft. With the fore and back soft and the BW. It really brings your dogs face in as the focal point and really makes it stand out. The third one does alot of the same for me. The third really shows the intensity in his eyes. I would like to see the color ones to compare and contrast. I think they look great and they have what you were trying for.
JayMorr 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2009 Brett, I like the first two. I love the third image in full color. The first image is awesome with the DoF. I like the second image because of the expression of your pup. She looks like she is about to pounce on something!
WYKnot 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 Brett, The third image is my favorite. I like the tones and the separation between the dog and the grass. Contrast is nicely done. Your processing preserves the highlights, especially on the black hair. My opinion, supplemented with cash and coupons, will fill your coffee cup. Threshershark 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 Thanks for all the comments everyone. All of these examples used significantly different approaches in post, it sounds like perhaps they all have merit and will probably work w/ the right subject matter. Now, if I can just get a coffee cup to fill...
