Pastor Ron 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2010 How many have ever tested some of your flys in the swimming pool or bath tub? I've done both.... many times!! Just ask my wife!!! I've actually gotten in the pool and checked the swimming action on some nymphs and streamers! :hyst: :hyst: I've timed descent rates of various weighted nymphs. If you tie a piece of mono to the inlet jet and leave the other end with a perfection loop you can attach various flies and see how they react in a current flow! My wife says that I am a very sick man!

flytosser 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 I try the new patterns in the aquarium too!! Works great, better than getting to the water and wasting time testing them there after you've tied up a bunch. Go catch a fish, Gary

steelie 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Good Day, I have a ten gallon aquarium in my tyuing room just for this purpose. Depending on what I am testing I may have a pump on or off to create current flow. In fact, there is a company out there that makes test units! I want to say they are out of the U.K....
