TheCream 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 I'll take 3. Awesome looking fly! Are you going to subject that creation to the toothy mouth of a musky?

Flyfish Dog 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Hey Driftless, you got down good! Did you use leadeyes? I actually used a recipe in Skip Morris book called the Shineabou Bluegill but instead of the complicated muddler style wing in the back which presented 2 small problems, first the hen feathers couldn't make a bigger profile and slast was that I am working to tie flies under a 30 min limit. This does it easliy. I only changed one thing by putting a good marabou on the back which I really liked as it gave me the correct profile I wanted. I used antron yarn between the tail fiber and the the top and bottom body marabou. Hook: Gama B10S - 1/0 Eyes: Med Lead painted Barbell eyes Tail: One full large Grizzly Marabou flat Body: Antton yarn wrapped about 1/4" from eye, full and brushy Marabou on top and bottom just short of tail. Gill: Red Marabou strips on side Head: Spun wool, yarn or EP fibers Trim flat but but not to much on the profile. You can add a weed guard Have fun! Pelhament 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Thats an awesome fly, however with the lead on the top of the hook shank, won't that ride hook point up?
