flyfishing4life 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2010 First it was the O-ring the the ajustment knob on the cam started slipping, next the pieces that are on the back end away from the jaws started slipping and became stripped. It hasbeen a good year ride with this vice now im looking for a quick replacement as I have muskie swap flies that need to be tied !
FishyboY 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2010 have you talked to renzetti about it? also you could have been putting way to much pressure on the knobs and cam
flyfishing4life 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2010 I have not. I lost the box somewhere when I moved and do not have the serial number for the vice, therefore I figured I was SOL.

EVERYONE KNOWS that such an expensive piece of beautifully machined artwork and utility is INCAPABLE of FAILING!!! BLASPHEMY!!! Take him out and shoot him!!! :ripped: :hyst: Hummm, I guess my research and opinion on Renzetti was correct after all........................ Just think, I did'nt even pay him to say this either Dude, sorry about the vise failure. I have an HMH / API Spartin which is like new and comes with the standard jaws and midge jaws that I might be willing to sell. It's the clamp version too. Just bought a Swiss Master and I don't think I'll need the API any longer.
BigDaddyHub 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Funny, was just googling "Swiss Master"...nice!
flyfishing4life 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 the renzetti was seven years old. It tied is shar of flies. Mainly 1/0 and larger for the toothy critters. It served me well and I would gladly recommend them to anyone !
Flyfish Dog 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 I thought I was under the impression that you had a knocked off lookalike Renzetti you bought off of Fleabay? The evidence shows in your pictures. Beside Renzetti will fix it and get it back to you rather fast if it was a Renzetti.
flyfishing4life 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 I have an EZ Rotary that I bought off of fleabay that you have seen. I dont really like it. However the renzetti which really is a renzetti is sitting in a show box beside my desk.
Flyfish Dog 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 Well then simply email them your trouble and then they will tell you to pack it up and send it them. They will fix it no doubt. Heck I been by their shop many time so I know.
