breambuster 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 OK, Everyone, as much as I hate to do this, I've made the call to drop our one swapper who has not acknowledged any of my messages, and I've added purolohi kalastaja as the 20th member of our swap. I have sent the other swapper 3 PM's and he has been on the computer in time to see 2 of the 3. He was on last, on the 14th of April, the day before the due date for our swap, but has not acknowledged either of the PM's that I sent him prior to the 14th. I did send one more PM on the 15th, but he hasn't been on the FTF since then. Purolohi Kalastaga says that he can get a set of flies in the mail to me in about a week. So we are going to wait for that set of flies and as soon as I get them, I'll get them all divided and back to you. Next week is going to be a VERY busy week for me & we will have a guest in our home, off and on, from the 24th until the 29th, but I will do my very best to get the flies out to all of you as soon as I possibly can. I also need to acknowledge the receipt of some flies, but I'll do that in another post, so it doesn't get lost in this one. Take care all. BB
breambuster 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 I need to acknowledge the receipt of 2 more sets of flies. Mdntn and guppergoo, both your sets of flies have arrived, and that makes a complete set, except for the one set that will be submitted by our alternate tyer. These two sets are great ties, and you will all enjoy fishing with them. Great work, guys. Very nicely done. Take care BB
purolohi kalastaja 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2010 Ok, here's what I've decided to tie as the last-minute-whip-finish-in-a-panic-alternate I'll be tying a bluegill-ized version of Kent's Stealth Bomber. I'll try to have 20 of them in the mail to BB by next Monday, barring any major issues. Thanks for having me as the alternate, hope you all like the fly. -PK
purolohi kalastaja 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 Ok all, flies are tied. Just need to be tagged and bagged. I'll do my best to mail them out tomorrow. -PK
breambuster 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 HI PK. That's GREAT! I hope you know how much I appreciate you doing this, "under the gun" so to speak. Having to get them tied, tagged and bagged at the last minute. I'm sure the rest of the swappers appreciate it also. I'm pretty sure I PMed you my Addy. If I'm mistaken, or if you need it sent again, let me know. BB

purolohi kalastaja 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 Hey all, flies went in the mail yesterday just before noon, so they should be leaving town this morning and, if memory serves, in BB's hands by the weekend, or monday at the latest. BB: I threw in a couple of SM flies for ya'. Hope you like them! -PK
breambuster 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 PK's flies arrived today! And now we have a complete set. HOWEVER, the timing, as far as my getting them back into the mail couldn't be worse. I've had a VERY busy week, so far, this week, and have family coming in tomorrow morning. As a result, between work and other stuff going on, I'll be tied up the next few days and probably won't be able to get them back into the mail until Monday. Sorry. But I will do my best to get them out then. Great work, PK! And THANKS for the extras! Very nice. Much appreciated. Take care BB
purolohi kalastaja 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2010 You're welcome, BB. As you could probably tell, I'm tired of catching the little 'gills, so I tied these a little bit bigger. The extras were a couple flies I tied up at the show back in December. The bigger one needs a fast strip, rest, slow strip, rest kind of retrieve to get the best action out of it. -PK
breambuster 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2010 Good news, everyone! I made time today to sort out all the flies and get them back into the mail! They are all on their way back to you guys! I think you are all going to be very pleased and impressed with this set of flies! I want to thank you all for being such a great group of swappers. We had a glitch or two along the way, but I think this worked out to be a great swap. It took me a little while today because I had to make up several sets of toe tags, and had to stop by Wal-Mart to buy an envelope. I also had to come up with a box for one set of flies. The original set came in a plastic zip lock envelope and there was no way this set was going back that way with out getting mangled. One of you, and I don't remember who, sent flies in a couple of plastic boxes that hooks are packaged in. So I used one of those for our other swapper. Whoever you are, thanks. I also learned that there is no place in our little town where you can change Canadian currency into American. In fact, the post office said the only place to do so is "at the border," and it's a LONG way from SC to the Canadian border! But I also found out that the bank can convert currency, but not coins "for a small fee." I had a Canadian $5 bill and the fee was about $4.80, so that didn't work out either. But I got that taken care of, and all the flies are on their way back to you. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know when they arrive so I can keep up with things and make sure that you all get your flies. Thanks again for a GREAT swap. You are ALL welcome to join ANY of my swaps. Take care BB
