My version of the elk hair Caddis

Recommended Posts

note about thread heads for dry fly patterns. Use only the necessary thread wraps to properly secure material and finish the head. Minimizing the number of wraps adds elegance to your design and reduces unneccesary bulk and drag from the form of the fly itself. Looking good. You're improving. Heads still give me fits on my dries.

Add a chartruse (sp?) ball of dubbing at the back of the body and call it a day.

Which one? the nymph or the caddis?

Flytyer14, Bruce Derrington is holding a live video class on the 25th of March, I would really encourage you to join it and learn from Bruce. He is tying a Elk hair caddis.

Cheers, Jeff.
