Danvice, I like the rotary and most other features, I just can't seem to keep from boogering up my jaws...no matter how much I think about not getting too tight on the hook, I still cant stop....if someone would come up with a stouter jaw for the Danvice, I would be in heaven!

It is really quite simple. If you will have to use force to position the cam, then the screw has been over tightened. Just back it off a bit.

My original jaws of nine years are still on my Danvise.

DK Barracuda here, I have tied on it for about 8 years and do not regret it a bit. I will say that I do actually use the rotary feature when tying. It's great for hackle, body met. etc. I may be a little ahead because rather than learning on a non-rotary, and then switching, I learned on a rotary from the begining.

I use both the Peak (when I'm on the road) and the Nor-Vise at home. I prefer the Nor-Vise, but haven't discovered a convenient way to carry it and set up when I get there.

Cheers!

I began tying on a Griffin A-2? Then two years ago I upgraded to the Renzetti Traveler. I enjoy both vices and I'm planning on adding another Renzetti later this year. I'm still undecided on which model, so that means I'll probably end up with the "Master Model" if I sell enough flies first! LOL

This post was by me before I changed my name to River Hunter! :o

I just started and I knew I wanted a true rotary so because of budget I went with the DanVise if I would have had the money to get the entire system I would have bought the NorVise. So far I love the DanVise I don't seem to have any issues witht the jaws. The DVD that came with mine explained how to adjust them properly. I follow the instructions given and so far no issues at all. I know of the jaw issue though and have found that I somtimes make them too louse and get half way through a fly and have to tighten just slightly. But that isn't a real problem I would rather do that then ruin the jaws. :D

take the jaws and heat them up red hot then dump them in oil do this 2 or 3 times no problems after that

currently tying on the Renzitti Traveler, but in desperate need of an upgrade and bearing replacement on the Renzetti. I like the rotary function, but don't often use it to directly apply materials to the vice like I once have. Being able to view all sides of the fly and tie on all sides of the hook is huge.
