What hook is this?

Recommended Posts

For the life of me, I can't find what model of hook this is.

Could anyone help me out here. Maybe it's an obvious make to some of you

here but the pictures on the net selling hooks are kind of unclear.

Is it a Mustad?

Looks to be about 3 x short, curved shank, extra wide gape, forged, turned down eye. I can't place it. Looks like a shorter version of TMC 2457.

Looking at the construction of the hook, its the cheaper method of making a hook!!

I believe this to be a Mustad hook looking at the Eye configuration and the way the barb is made? TMC barbs are much finer made?

They have hooks called heavy scud hooks i think this is one of them!

Blessings

Jeremy

Did you ever Steelhead or salmon fish Great Lakes region? It looks like a heavy wire egg hook that they sell for these plastic artificial eggs. They make good Chech nymph hooks.

I don't know what it is but it's not any of the TMC hooks mentioned.

Agree with Jaydub. Not a Tiemco. Looks like a Mustad C67S except for the down-eye. Perhaps an older discontinued version of the Mustad hook? Also reminiscent of the bait hooks used for single salmon eggs, but those are usually up-eye.
