Attractor: #12 Crackleback (although I usually fish it wet) Mike CDC addiction is the healthiest addiction I've ever heard of. I think I have it too. It's the only addiction which causes suffering if you don't have it.

crowbuster 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2010 I've caught more trout on a quill gordon than any of other dry fly, so that is one of the top dawgs. I love wulfs, the come in at 2. Then a small(12-14) stimulators are third.
dafunk5446 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2010 Humpy by far! Super buggy, floats like a cork, doesnt specifically imitate anything but works almost always, at least in the Rockies. My close second would be any of the Wulffs.
skeet3t 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2010 Elk hair caddis; we have good numbers of caddis here in east Tennessee. I have also fished it all year with good success. It imitates a lot of different insects and is easy to tie- hook in #12-18, dubbing, hackle, wing. Actually, I tie mine with a deer hair wing.
BigDaddyHub 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2010 Can't believe noone else is fishing a Cahill.....love a Cahill.
fishingbobnelson 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2010 Nelson Ishiyama's "Nelson's Caddis" great in rough water and floats like a cork. I have no idea why this fly from a 60's article in Fly Fisherman is not more popular. #2 is the "Irresistible", because, like the name, it is. Also a good way to learn to spin deer hair.
