Not bad. I think there would be a lot of missed hook-sets. That is a SUPER full fly plus heavy weed guard. I'll jig with my spinning rod setup.

I've done a couple of these flies already and its fairly easy to do. I elected to not attach the weed guard thinking the same

thing in regards to the all the rabbit used in the pattern. Good Stuff.

fish it on an 8wt. anything less would be hazardous to your health! i fish all my bass flies on an 8wt because i can throw big meat sandwiches!

That's the most industrial strength fly I have ever seen. I'm not sure I could manage it on my 8 wt.

believe it or not but i saw an exculsive on how to make it in the winter this year and the fly came out in spring

That's a great looking brown trout fly! Also, a lot of guys on this thread need to sack up and chuck it on a 5 wt. rig. You don't need a cannon to throw big flies, just adjust your casting stroke to allow for a more open loop and use the weight of the fly to shoot your line.
