CoachBob 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2010 Wapsi makes synthetic materials called Super hair and Ultra hair. Every shop that sells them has a different quantity they have repackaged which looks like it was cut from a larger spool. Wapsi will only sell to shops that have a storefront. I use a LOT of it and it is very expensive. Anyone have an idea where it can be purchased (under whatever ever name the call it) in bulk. I'm guessing Wapsi doesn't manufacture it themselves, and there may be another outlet for bulk like there is with so many other tying materials. Or not. c-denby 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 FTD doesn't have it listed, However, He may be able to get it for you and I'm sure his prices would be the best of anywhere. I can't remember who I got it from but one of the Lure Making websites had super hair in chartreuse, clear, and white.. It was pretty cheap and I received about 3 times as much as the sized piece you receive from a fly shop.. But for the life of me, I can't remember which company had it. Good Luck, Let me know if you find a good source online, as I use quite a bit of it in Chartreuse, blue and white... Cheers, Chris
CoachBob 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2011 Finally found it. http://www.terminaltackleco.com/prod_detail_list/342 Look for "Crimped Nylon Hair". You can buy 2oz or 1/2 pound or a pound. A great savings.
