Purple Nymph.

Recommended Posts

I would try it on trout in lake. I have no doubt they would snap it up. Personally, I think purple in the water is closer to a true match for insects. not sure why, but put 2 of the same one black, the other purple and you'll see why.

Took a pattern I tied that was inspired by this pattern and hauled a few chunky browns out of the lake.

Definitely proved its effectiveness I must say. Actually made my best day of fishing in a while. Maybe it was the rain, but I'm convinced it was this ingenious pattern!

Thanks, Tight Lines

What a great looking fly.

This summer the shops in Bend were saying the hot fly was a purple nymph.
